Future Home Technology, Inc a leading manufacturer of custom-designed modular homes is seeking crafted candidates for the various trade positions at our modern, environmentally controlled, construction facility in Port Jervis.

Ideal candidates should be educated, experienced and ready to work in the following areas.

Carpenters (Trimmers, Framers-walls, floors, roofs)
Siding/window installers
Plumbers and Apprentice
Electrical Apprentice
Roofers
Sheetrockers
Drywall Finishers/ Spacklers
Painters

We are also looking for entry level apprentice workers for on-the-job training positions.

We offer a competitive compensation programs commensurate with work experience. All new employees are eligible for our health programs, insurance plans after 6 months of service, 401 (k) plans, paid vacations after 1yr of service, paid holidays and other benefits.

We seek applicants with 3-7 + years of applicable craft experience for the trades and more senior positions. Entry-level candidates should have basic math skills and a positive attitude to work, learn and grow with us. Some OT is required.

ABOUT FUTURE HOME TECHNOLOGY

Future Home Technology's first home rolled off the line in August 1989. Since then over 6000+ quality homes have been manufactured at our Port Jervis, NY factory.

Our factory was the culmination of years of reasearch and design. It was built specifically to construct modular homes, not retro-fitted from some other use as other modular factories are. This means that our construction team has access to modern, state-of-the-art equipment to properly manufacture your home.

Our original sales, construction and management team came to Future Home Technology with years of expeirience in the modular industry. Energy Star Compliant and going Green.
Energy Star; helpful memory joggers as it relates to buying FHT modular homes:

R-21 insulation in the walls; R-38 insulation in the ceilings; standards in FHT building specifications for high end energy savings relating to heating and cooling.

Bath fan with auto timer; 100 CFM Fan/Light combination for constant air flow. Standard with our building specifications.

Energy star lighting fixtures can be obtained as an option; Fixtures with special energy efficient bulbs (pin type).

FHT caulking at plates and panel intersections for air leakage makes the home energy star air-tight. Currently, FHT caulks around receptacles, switches, windows, doors, and light fixture boxes.

Ultimately, our modular homes are energy star compliant providing the builder adheres to local energy star requirements at the job site. Also, when ordering a home that is expected to obtain federal and state energy credits, energy compliance must be indicated to FHT upfront so your inspector can review our energy building processes in our plant.

Using FHT Green products and Leed certification:

FHT use of R-21 and R-38 insulation in our walls and ceilings are formaldehyde free Green products.

FHT use of Andersen windows and sliding glass doors are Green products.

FHT uses of Merillat kitchen and bathroom cabinetry are Green products.

FHT use of Shaw carpets are Green products.

FHT is currently reviewing changing our paint to a Green product with Low VOC.

Certain wood components can be purchased as options that are Green products such as Fingerjoint or MDF mouldings. In addition, FHT offers “FSC” lumber for Green use.

We are attaching a New York Times article which featured our home (picture) that was built where our builder obtained a Platinum Leeds rating. (See New York Times September 13, 2009 Designed, Delivered and Sealed; this was our home featured in the article. Needless to say, going very Green is quite expensive as it relates to the purchase of certain wood products. That said, FHT is committed to using Green products that meet your customer requirements. Design and Engineering of Your Custom Modular Home

Future Home Technology, Inc (FHT) will design your custom modular home specific to your new home requirements. We turn around your home design within 3 business days once you have met with us.

Your home plans will consist initially of detailed floor plans and home elevations and we will work with you (revisions) until your dream home design is completed. Once the final engineering is approved, our plans are then stamp by a third party that provides an independent review of the design, structural calculations and state codes that have already been incorporated in your home plans.

The stamp plans have many different types of design and engineering information such as detailed floor layouts, electric, heat calculations, structural and other required information for you to pull permits and ultimately receive final certificate of occupancy.

Since FHT has designed and built over 6,000 custom modular homes, we are extremely confident in our design capabilities. Our engineers have been involved in thousands of homes built by our Company. For complex homes, FHT engineers will work with your architect to achieve the required design of your dream home.

Future Home Technology is strategically located in Port Jervis, New York. If you are in the area, we invite you to walk through our fully decorated model homes.

Our 3000 square foot colonial model with garage option was proudly designed by our talented sales and engineering staff. It features many custom options including nine foot ceilings on the first floor, a tray ceiling in the dining room, 42” cherry wall cabinets, Corian counter tops in the kitchen, a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath, walk-in closets, custom designed Merillat masterpiece entertainment units, pocket doors and other high end, value added options.
We also have a three bedroom Ranch model on site. Cathedral ceilings, maple cabinets with matching dishwasher panels, bead and high hat lighting, and spindle windows are just a few of the custom options you’ll find in the kitchen. The master bath is complete with a Jacuzzi tub and a spacious double vanity with mirrors.
Wood grain doors are throughout the 1655 square foot model, which also features a Therma-tru door with Frosted image glass and sidelights. Both models are open for tour from 8 to 5 weekdays, and Saturday by appointment.
