Future Home Technolgy builds custom modular Green Homes

Future Home Technology is building a Green Home to be delivered to Princeton, NJ.

A new contemporary home is currently under construction at Future Home Technology. This house is designed by Marina Rubina, Architect. A close collaboration during the design process between the architect and FHT engineering staff allowed this house to be a completely custom design utilizing best practices of modular construction to save time and money for the client. The house is in currently being certified for Energy Star and LEED for Homes Gold making it one of the most green homes FHT has built to date. Once completed on site later this summer, the home will be the most green home in Princeton.

Some facts about this House:
* 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom; 2,000 square foot main house;
* 500 sq ft guest suite with a separate living area, sleeping loft, private bath and outdoor space;
* Completely custom open plan with double height spaces that allows the house to feel spacious;
* minimal disruption to the neighborhood due to extremely short construction time of only 3-4 month;
* significantly more economical construction cost compared to similar traditionally-built homes;
* Some of the "Green Building Features include":
o located in a urban setting walking distance to public transportation, library, art and sports classes, restaurants, movie theater etc;
o designed with ideal daylight and shade in mind for indoor and outdoor spaces;
o efficient use of construction materials and minimal waste due to off-site fabrication;
o extremely well sealed and insulated exterior building envelope minimizing heating and cooling costs;
